The lockout in Haryana could be extended from April 14, with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar indicating on Tuesday that he would address people to make them aware of the government’s efforts to tackle COVID-19. Haryana has already announced to delay the procurement of the crop, which will now be done in a blistering manner from April 15 to June 30.
“This time, we have changed the crop procurement timetable – procurement of mustard from 15 April and wheat procurement from 20 April, which is a few days late compared to previous years. Nevertheless, I request my peasant brothers not to show any haste in bringing their crops to the mandis. They should try to store maximum amount of crop in their homes or use some other method of storage available.
The corona virus, we expect will end on 14 April. But due to some reasons, if it extends for a few more days, your support is expected. Selling our crop is a necessity, yet our priority is to get rid of the coronavirus epidemic.
