India said in its forecast on Thursday, the monsoon is likely to be “unusually wet” and “above normal” this season.
Weather company, an IBM venture, said that the monsoon may hit Kerala on May 31.
If the predictions come true, India will have its second consecutive “up” during the monsoon season this year.
“Climate change during this year is expected to have an unusually wet monsoon season, although our calibrated and bias-corrected models have some degree of dryness,” the forecast said. “The evidence is weighted more clearly towards wetter-than-normal weather, and we have started with a 105 percent general forecast.
