With 560 new Covid-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of corona virus cases in India has risen to 5334, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health. The death toll has risen to 154, while 445 patients have recovered from the virus or have been discharged. Maharashtra had the highest number of cases at 1018, followed by 690 in Tamil Nadu and 576 in Delhi. On Monday, the Ministry of Health had registered around 500 new cases.
The Health Ministry also said that as part of its efforts to supplement the government’s measures to fight coronaviruses by the Indian Railways, the national transporter has converted 2,500 coaches into isolation wards in the first phase and 40,000 isolation beds are now ready for use.
