IHRC team surveyed East Kolkata Slum where 53 slum houses got burnt due to short circuit

International Human Rights Council team surveyed East Kolkata Slum.

At least 53 slums were gutted in a fire that broke out at Narkeldanga in Eastern Kolkata in the early morning on 07 September. The fire broke out at around 5:30 am. At least 53 slums were destroyed. Now, the flame is under control.

Even though the Minister said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and it would take a forensic analysis, local residents said that there was a short circuit in a transformer that later exploded.

International Human Rights Council team surveyed East Kolkata Slum which caught fire on 7th September where 53 slum houses got burnt due to short circuit were relieved by distribution of foods and mosquito nets at Narkeldanga canal east road residents by Rina Biswas – State Secretary, Dalia Talukdar – Women Secretary, Ganesh Das – PRO, Bandana Singh, Kwaljit Majethia Members were working on fields to rehab citizens.
