The Election Commission on Friday announced dates for the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. The polls will be held in three phases starting from October 28, and the counting of votes will happen on November 10.
Notably, this is the first state election to be held in the country during the corona virus pandemic.
The term of the state’s 243-member Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29.
The EC also issued a set of guidelines to be followed throughout the process. Social distancing will be strictly adhered to and everyone will have to wear masks at polling booths.
